Poor George's is a great place to if you are visiting Yreka or just stopping for a bit to eat. Location is off the interstate 5 on exit 775. Staff is friendly and food was delicious. Next time we are in the area we will definitely stop again.

We stopped in here yesterday on the way to Ashland for a cup of tea and a bathroom break. The restaurant was virtually empty, but we were welcomed warmly and the tea was good, a cup and a small pot each. Our amiable server tempted us w/ their homemade desserts, but we resisted. Their food does sound delicious. It was a nice find and we will likely return on another trip.

Good dinner at a great price. Very friendly service. My husband and I shared the 4 piece broaster chicken dinner - delicious! And our son had a grilled cheese with fries. He liked his grilled cheese so much that he said the following: a) "This reminds me of a Brooklyn diner grilled cheese." (high praise) and b) when asked if he liked the grilled cheese more than McDonald's ice cream, he said yes! Now he wants to go back for breakfast and asked sincerely if we stop in Yreka again, can we come back here for dinner?

After a long day on the road went looking for a place to grab some sandwiches and head back to the hotel. Stumbled onto this little Gem down town. Super friendly staff and Quick service.
We ordered the club with wedge fries and it was more that one person could eat. Classic sandwich with good flavor. They even offered us ranch for dipping. I also ordered the philly with Swiss cheese and a green salad. The philly was on a soft warm hoagie roll, the beef was melt in your mouth tender, and the peppers and onions were tender-crisp and mildly sweet. Finger licking good. The green salad was nearly a meal in Itself. A bed of mixed greens, tomato's, cucumber, and black olives. And they were open late. Would have like to gone back for breakfast but alas had to get on the road first thing in the morning. Next time I find myself in yreka I will definitely be back. -
